Leticia Bal and Delia González have played together since 1996, when Leticia asked Delia to become the lead singer of her all female Latin band LETICIA Y SU RUMBADAMA. The respect was mutual from the beginning. 'Why try other singers when you work with one of the greatest Cuban singers ever...' said Leticia in 1996 and she still feels that way.
Being a good lead singer in a Latin band however does not automatically make you a good singer for duo's....It was a big adventure for both musicians to start working this way. Delia's openess regarding the merging of Cuban music with Leticia's marimba and loop station, made it possible to become really succesful as Duo Rumbadama. On the video you can see fragments of their performance at the Tropentheater, Amsterdam, in 2011. The duo plays concerts as well as at festivals.
